Proef won the
project for the construction of the Cable Landing Station in Sines.
This project consists in building the support infrastructures for EllaLink's new transatlantic submarine fiber optic cable, which will connect the city of Fortaleza-Brazil to the port of Sines-Portugal.
In the first phase of the project, in August 2019, Proef was responsible for designing the solutions and obtaining the necessary licenses for the ducts layout that connects the cable arrival to Sines’s seaside with the Cable Landing Station (CLS).
At this stage, Proef is responsible for the construction and implementation of the Cable Landing Station (CLS), a critical support infrastructure given the globality of the project, which will be the meeting point between the submarine and terrestrial network, and will also enhance the connection to other European cities.
Resulting from the partnership of European and Latin American organizations, this new "link” between Portugal and Brazil provides an intercontinental platform of new generation in optical fiber, with 10.000 km in length, which will directly connect Europe to Latin America and will enable high capabilities regarding internet exchange traffic.
This project reinforced our statement in the development of Data Center infrastructure solutions. Therefore, Proef is proud to strengthen its participation in a strategic intercontinental communications project, representing Proef's technical know-how and skills in Telecommunications infrastructures and Data Centers.
